DESCRIPTION:I present some recent results\, obtained in collaboration with 
 Joachim  Krieger\, on novel types of solutions to the critical wave equati
 on in 3  spatial dimensions. These solutions either blow up at infinity or
  vanish  at a prescribed rate. The existence of such exotic dynamics viola
