Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has 16 professorships, currently three SNFS professorships and employs about 150 people in research, teaching, and administration. It offers study programs in mathematics (on the bachelor's and master's levels), computer science (on the bachelor's and master's levels) and actuarial science (interdisciplinary master's program).  

Information on the Latest Measures Relating to the Coronavirus Situation

The learning spaces on the mezzanine floor at Spiegelgasse 1 are open for students of Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science and Computational Sciences.

Access to Spiegelgasse 1 is only possible using the Unicard because for the time being, the building will remain closed to the general public.

The following guidelines are currently in place for the mezzanine floor at Spiegelgasse 1. They have to be followed all times:  

  • The indicated maximum number of people allowed in each room must be strictly adhered to
  • A mask must be worn all the time (Exception: Eating and drinking is allowed in the designated area labelled as “Verpflegungsbereich”)
  • Maintain a distance of 1.5 meters even when wearing a mask
  • The table surfaces are to be cleaned with the provided detergents before use
  • Attendance must be recorded on the forms provided for contact tracing. The completed forms are to be placed in the box nearby
