Gymnasium students can participate in the University of Basel’s program for gymnasium students in the framework of secondary schools’ support for gifted students. Students in the program for gymnasium students do not pay any tuition.

Participation in courses

The application form must list all the courses that will be taken at the University of Basel in the relevant semester. The number and title of all the courses can be found in the current course directory.

Second semester: Programming Project

Admission, registration, fees

Admission to the program for gymnasium students at the University of Basel (in the framework of the support program for gifted students) occurs through an application form that you receive from the person responsible for the support of gifted students at your school.
The admission is valid for one semester. For further semesers where applicable, a new application form must be submitted.

Earning credit points

Successfully participationg in a course results in earning credit points. The number of credit points and the conditions for successful participation can be found in the course directory.
Important: Credit points earned in the program for gymnasium students will be automatically applied to your credit-points account if you are later accepted for a study program at the University of Basel.

Transcript

At the end of every February and every August, gymnasium students will receive a report of their academic work and the credit points they have earned on a transcript. It will be sent by mail

University of Basel e-mail account

Participants in the program for gymnasium students will automatically receive a University of Basel e-mail account after registering. A log-in and password will be sent by mail in separate letters and will also make it possible to access ADAM, where numerous study materials are stored.
