Crystallographic Applications of Uniform Distribution Theory

Crystallography, as seen from a mathematician's viewpoint, is mainly concerned with "Sphere Packings, Lattices and Groups" (as is the title of a famous book of Conway and Sloane). It is clear, however, that there are many other connections between crystallography and mathematics, ranging from more general applications of graph theory to more special ones such as differential geometry. In my talk I want to present some explorations into some applications of uniform distribution theory within a crystallographic context.
