BIO

Hi, I am a PhD student at the Department of mathematics and Computer Science (DMI) of University of Basel, and a part of Optimization of Machine Learning Systems Group (OMLS). I started my PhD in the fall of 2022 under the supervison of Prof. Dr. Aurelien Lucchi. My second advisor is Prof. Dr. Volker Roth.

Currently, my research focuses on Bayesian Inference and Machine Learning, specifically in establishing theoretical guarantees for variational algorithms. A broader goal of my reseach is to explore the impact of noise on machine learning and aim to design algorithms that are aware of noise and geometry, to ultimately help improve generalization in practical applications.

Other key topics of interest to me: mathematics of data science, spectral graph theory, Riemannian optimisation, etc.
