Catherine Bandle's research at the University of Basel focuses on elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations, calculus of variations and geometric analysis. The focus is on qualitative analysis, e.g. the study of nonlinear phenomena such as the existence and stability of solutions, the explosion of solutions of reaction-diffusion equations and the connection between calculus and optimal forms in geometry.
The results have been published in about 160 articles in scientific journals and in two monographs. The most recent publication appeared in 2023.
