Number Theory Seminar: Harry Schmidt (University of Warwick)
Title: Sum-product phenomena in algebraic groups.
Abstract: In joint work with Harrison and Mudgal we prove generalisations of sum-product type bounds to algebraic groups of dimension 1. This has applications to a question of Bremner on the incongruence of different group structures.
