Primalogo was a guest at BitFabrik at the HEK Basel

[Translate to English:] Zu Gast bei der BitFabrik

On October 26, 2024, Primalogo was a guest at BitFabrik, the programming club at the Haus der Elektronischen Künste (HEK Basel).

In the BitFabrik at HEK Basel, we explored the topic of pixel graphics from multiple angles. The workshop participants, aged between approximately 9 and 14, discussed together the connection between pixel graphics and video games and why pixel graphics were necessary in the past. They created their own small pixel graphics and decorated the workshop room with Post-It art. It quickly became clear that creating beautiful pixel graphics, especially small ones, is not so easy. Naturally, programming was also a key part of the workshop, and the children first programmed simple shapes and later moved on to creating pixel graphics using Logo.

The leaders of BitFabrik, computer scientist and art educator Natalie Frei and media and interaction designer Lily Hold, also actively supported the children with programming and design.

It was incredibly fun to program with the motivated children and young people. It was also a great collaboration with the dedicated leaders of BitFabrik. Together, we were able to develop many new ideas for the workshop.

Primalogo would be happy to visit BitFabrik again.
