Global existence for the 2D Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation with growing modes

I will present a recent result concerning global existence for the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation on the two-dimensional torus with one growing mode in each direction. The proof combines PDE techniques with a Lyapunov function argument for the growing modes. This is joint work with David Ambrose (Drexel University, USA).
