Seminar Algebra and Geometry: Susanna Zimmermann (Angers)
The Noether-Castelnuovo theorem implies that over algebraically closed fields there is no non-trivial homomorphism from the Cremona group of the plane to a finite group. Over non-closed fields there are many, and I would like to explain some examples.
