Mobility

Institutionalized exchange programs offer an attractive opportunity to gain insights into other universities and cultures. The University of Basel maintains bilateral agreements with various European and non-European universities. These university agreements are open to students from all fields of study.

EUCOR – The European Campus
EUCOR is a cross-border confederation of the Upper Rhine universities in Basel, Freiburg, Strasbourg, Karlsruhe, and Mulhouse. With the EUCOR student ID, students may attend courses at these universities and use their libraries and other facilities.

Swiss Mobility Program
The Swiss Mobility Programme offers the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at another Swiss university or university of applied sciences with minimal administrative effort. Students remain enrolled at their home university and continue to pay their semester fees there.

Swiss-European Mobility Programs (Erasmus+)
The European student exchange programme provides the opportunity to spend a semester or a full academic year abroad. The programme supports students with the formal administrative process, and the Erasmus Student Network helps students build connections and integrate into life in the new city.

Planning a Mobility Semester
In order to meaningfully integrate a period of study at another university or into the study program, early planning (approximately one year in advance) is essential. Application deadlines for exchange programs vary from university to university.

Students are strongly advised to inform the Teaching Committee at an early stage and to clarify in advance whether the intended coursework can be recognized within the Master’s program in Data Science.
